If you upgrade to Java 8, you may get a certificate error when trying to launch the DPX interface from a workstation.

 

Symptoms

If you use a remote workstation to access the DPX interface, after upgrading to Java 8 you may see the following error when trying to launch DPX: "Your security settings have blocked an application signed with an expired or not-yet-valid certificate from running."

To resolve this issue, open the Java Control Panel, then click the Security tab:



Set the security level to 'High' and edit the Exception Site List.  Click 'Edit Site List' and 'Add':

 

Resolution



Enter the URL that you normally use to launch DPX, eg http://myserver.com:6122/dpx.jnlp, then click OK. The interface launches.
