Summary

An Oracle restore fails with the message that the restore cannot be restored to a physical server, even thought the actual target is a VM.

Symptoms

An Oracle restore fails with the following error: 'VMDK backed database (<DB NAME>) cannot be restored to physical server.' The target VM for the restore is a VM, and the type in the registration of the server also shows it as 'virtual'. In addition, the server was never configured as a physical server, so there is no possibility of confusion within the catalog.

Resolution

The mongo catalog was lacking some key entries for the vm (such as the UUID) making it appear as if it were a physical server.

A hotfix was provided to the customer which resolved the issue.  See ECSUST-1176.
