Summary

The following KB will provide an instruction on how to increase job limits for file level, block level job and agentless jobs.

Step By Step

File Level Backup

In order to change the maximum file level jobs allowed to run at one time, the following setting needs to be modified:
Change the configuration of the job handler module under the Configure > Enterprise > select your Master server > right-click Manage Configuration > Select jobhnd (Job Handler) > Advanced > enable maxjob > change the value from 10 (default) to 15 (or your preference).

Block level Backup

By default an unlimited number of block backup or agentless jobs can run. In order to change the maximum Block Level and agentless jobs allowed to run at the same time, the following setting needs to be modified:
Configure > Enterprise > select your Master server > right-click Manage Configuration > Select svh (Snapvault Job Handler) > Advanced > enable the maxjobs option and add a new default.

VMWare Agentless Backup

By default, ten agentless backup tasks can run per job. In order to change the maximum agentless tasks per job allowed to run at the same time, the following settings need to be modified:

Add -vmmaxtask and its value to Unix/Linux Configuration Script /opt/DPX/bin/sssvh on the line with SSSVH= on DPX Linux Appliances.

E.g.: SSSVH='-norespconn -vmmaxtask 25'

For Windows Master use Manage Configuration under Configuration > Enterprise. Select Windows Registry Value SSSVH. Click Apply.
