Summary
ECX cataloging policy fails due to low diskspace conditions on the ECX appliance.
Symptoms
Running a NetApp File Catalog policy fails with error:
"Writing to Catalog failed. There is not enough space on the disk"
Resolution
When the above error seen it is recommended to expand or add an additional disk to the ECX appliance please see
How to expand the disks or add an addtional disk to ECX appliance for details
Workaround:
The following file can be created and anything settings in here will be honored over the default settings of the appliance over an application reboot.
Create a file name: com.catalogic.ecx.custom.properties in the /opt/ECX/virgo/repository/ecx-custom/
The file needs to be updated and whatever value is set in this would override the default value.
- netapp.file.filesystem.errorlimit=80
Catalogic does not recommend to increase this value any higher than 80% as the appliance requires working space on the partitions for cataloging etc.
