Summary
A tape library fails to open in device control after an extended jukebox inventory. The jukebox will not open in a timely fashion, and the procedure times out.
Resolution
Add a switch to SSJUKER to change the refresh behavior of your tape library:
- On Windows, modify the string value HKLM\Software\Syncsort\BackupExpress\<Machine Name>\0\SSJUKER to include the value data -r215.
- On UNIX, modify the dpx/bin/ssjuker file in the Backup Express product directory to include the flag -r215 for the execution of the module.
Note: The library may still time out upon opening in device control, but you will be able to operate the jukebox after the inventory is finished.
