Summary



A communication failure occurs during an IA session. A Snapshot from an DPX backup job cannot be mapped to a volume using iSCSI Initiator.

Symptoms



When running the IA Map process and a node and volume were selected, the following message displays: Generic snap error: rc=23001 or Generic snap error: rc=12004.

One or more of the following symptoms exist:

From the snap log:

From a sssnap-net log file:

From the mapper log:

Resolution



Perform the following procedure to resolve the issue:

  1. Access the NetApp filer through TelNet.
  2. Run the following command: option httpd.

    If the output for httpd.admin.enable is off, change this option by entering options httpd.admin.enable on.

    If the output for httpd.admin.ssl.enable is off, change this option by entering options httpd.admin.ssl.enable on.
  3. Confirm the NetApp Storage System has been added to the Enterprise with the user set as root.
