Summary

When attempting to add a node to the enterprise, the node fails to be added while the log displays a message that includes error return code 29.

Resolution

This error occurs when the Enterprise Authentication option is enabled while the node you are attempting to add does not have the necessary authentication key. To resolve the situation, you either must disable Enterprise Authentication or provide the authentication key to the new node.

The Enterprise Authentication option ensures that communication takes place only among nodes in the same enterprise.

You can verify that Enterprise Authentication is enabled through the Configure Enterprise window in the Management Console. After clicking on your enterprise name, an "Enabled Enterprise Authentication" option will appear, in which Enterprise Authentication can be enabled or disabled.

You can find the public key contained in the file auth.key file in the root DPX directory on all nodes in your enterprise. This auth.key file must be placed on the new node's DPX directory in order for it to successfully communicate with your enterprise.
