A system administrator can deploy a product key into an existing system in two ways:

  • Use the DPX management console to deploy the key on a running system. You do not need to restart CMAgent.
  • Edit the .ssbe_key file. This requires you to restart CMAgent on the master server.

To use the DPX management console to deploy a DPX product key:

1. Obtain the new product key string from the DPX license email that you received and have it
ready to enter.

2. Select Help > About DPX License.

3. In License Tasks, select Query License.

4. Select the key string displayed in the Query License Information dialog box.

5. Copy the new key from the BEX license email that you received and paste it into the Query License
Information dialog box over the selected key string.

6. Click Query to activate the Replace button.

7. Click Replace. A dialog displays confirming the License is replaced.

To edit the .ssbe_key file to deploy a BEX/NSB product key:

The BEX/NSB product key is saved in clear text in the .ssbe_key file, which is located in the root directory of the BEX/NSB installation on the master server.

  1. Obtain the new product key string from the BEX license email that you received and have it ready to enter.
  2. Navigate to the root directory of the BEX/NSB installation on the master server.
  3. Open the .ssbe_key file in Windows Notepad or other plain text ascii editor.
  4. Edit the key string.

Important: Edit only the key in a single line. Do not include the checksum. Do not enter line feeds or carriage returns.
  5. Restart BEX/NSB. The new product key becomes effective.
