Summary

Troubleshooting the Exclusion Rule Does Not Exist, RC=3373 error when running a file-level backup.

Symptoms

In the job log, the following error displays:

192.0.2.24 4/2/2013 11:05:58 am SNBJH_3038E *** ssdatmgr returned error 3373 (reqid=126, function ID=142) ***

192.0.2.24 4/2/2013 11:05:58 am SNBJH_3270E *** Error querying selection directive <Exclusion_Name> from database, rc = 3373 ***

192.0.2.24 4/2/2013 11:05:58 am SNBJH_3057E *** Last message from DB: Tue Apr 02 11:05:58 2013 SNBSEL2094E Selection directive

' <Exclusion_Name> ' does not exist ***

Resolution

The job definition is unable to find the exclusion rule. The workaround for this is:

  1. Open the backup job definition and delete the exclusion rule.
  2. Save the backup job definition.
  3. Recreate the exclusion rule and save the backup job.
