Summary

Catalogic Software DPX open storage is installed on a Windows server running Microsoft iSCSI Target services. When creating an IA mapping from the DPX open storage server, DPX fails with the following error: rc = 23007. An error occurred during iSCSI Login. To resolve, stop the Microsoft iSCSI Software Target services.

 

Symptoms

The following error message displays on the DPX master server:

rc = 23007. An error occurred during iSCSI Login.

The Starwind logs displays the following:

Resolution

Microsoft iSCSI Target Service is Incompatible with Catalogic Software DPX Open Storage

The IA mapping succeeds when you stop the following services:

  • Microsoft iSCSI Software Target
  • Microsoft iSCSI Software Target VDS Hardware Provider
  • Microsoft iSCSI Software Target VSS Hardware Provider
