Summary
IA map and browsing advanced recovery restore fail with "Cannot find node name" error.
Symptoms
While IA mapping a snapshot or browsing a snapshot in the restore screen, the following error displays: “Failed to browse from node “ on node <> RC=21004. Cannot find <filer> node name.
Snapshots that are still cataloged were no longer on the Netapp filer. This can be caused by manual intervention or automatic snapshot deletion. See https://library.netapp.com/ecmdocs/ECMP1368826/html/GUID-6653B102-E228-4D1E-82F1-AFF58FE144C5.html.
Resolution
Verify all instances of this backup. Expire all instances that cannot be mapped, then run a condense job.
If there are no valid instances left, run a base backup. A base backup can be forced by following these steps:
- On the client, start bexsnapmgr.bat from the DPX tools directory (run as administrator).
- Select the Change Journal Configuration tab.
- Select node behind Disable and click Disable.
