Summary
An IBM SVC VM Copy replication fails between clustered storage with the following error: The change VDisk could not be associated because the I/O group has insufficient free bitmap space.
Resolution
Increase the IBM storage system's FlashCopy bitmap memory. From the IBM storage system's command line interface, use the lsiogrp -delim : 0 command to view the current FlashCopy bitmap memory usage. The default amount of memory for FlashCopy is 20 MB.
Use the chiogrp command to increase the amount of FlashCopy memory. See IBM Knowledge Center: chiogrp.
