Summary

DPX Application Recovery Options fails to run if run by another user on the system, such as a user that did not initially install the product.

 

Symptoms

The following error displays when attempting to run DPX Application Recovery Options.

 

 

Resolution

Generally this occurs when you are using a time limited, or subscription, license. To verify, open your License.ini file in an ASCII editor, such as Notepad, and note the following section in the license:

 

 

[Licensed Subscription]

240=B/B99ZSEV+Y=

;Start date:

; Tuesday, May 05, 2015

;End date:

; Thursday, December 31, 2015

If the above section appears in your License.ini file, you are running a time limited, or subscription, license. When using this type of license, DPX Application Recovery Options must be run as the user that initially installed it. This is by design and is not related to the options selected during installation.

It is common for users with a time limited license to create a separate account for use with DPX Application Recovery Options.

If you have purchased DPX Application Recovery Options, contact DPLicense@catalogicsoftware.com for a permanent license file that will prevent this issue from occurring.
