Occasionally my backups fail with the error “could not find source filer” or “cannot connect to source filer”. What could cause these failures?
Answer
A bi-directional communication is needed between client and the DPX Open Storage Server, which can be tested by pinging the DPX Open Storage Server from client and vice versa. It seems that this bi-directional communication doesn’t exist in your case. Firewall may also cause this error.
