What is a DPX Agentless proxy node?

DPX processes VMware backups through one or more VMware backup proxy servers. These servers create VM snapshots, transfer data to the specified destination NetApp storage system, and communicate with the Master Server. Proxy servers eliminate the need to install backup agents on VMs. For VMware protection, your Enterprise must contain at least one proxy server. At the time of installation, an option will be provided if you wish to install this node as a proxy server. DPX will automatically detect that condition and sets VMware Backup Proxy Server to Yes in the node configuration window.
