How do I set which proxy node to use for a backup job?
Answer
A proxy node can be defined in the Agentless Backup job definition under the "Set Proxy" option. If there are multiple proxy servers, DPX will scan through each of the proxy nodes to determine if there is SAN support. The preferred method is to use SAN over LAN. Caution: if there are multiple proxy servers, it may take some time for DPX to determine which proxy is eligible for SAN support. It is recommended that the user selectively chooses the nodes which are eligible for SAN mode backup.
Multiple proxy servers are recommended to enable load balancing for optimum backup performance. DPX will automatically round robin the proxy servers and load balance the VMs among what is available.
