Running the media volume report in the DPX GUI does not generate the report and causes the GUI to become unresponsive.

Symptoms



Running the media volume report in the DPX GUI does not generate the report and causes the GUI to become unresponsive.

Resolution



The issue is caused by an invalid entry in the LocalSettings.xml file on the client running the GUI.

On your master server, run the following steps:
  • Select the Start menu button and then select Run. 
  • In the Run field type: %appdata% 
  • A new window will appear.  Navigate to BackupExpress\Java_GUI\LocalSetting 
  • There is a file named LocalSettings.xml.  Rename it to: LocalSettings.xml.old 
  • Open the GUI. The media volume report should open correctly.
