Symptoms

After removing local ECX user multiple jobs start failing with error : 

ERROR,1498021200233,Wed 21 Jun 2017 05:00:00 UTC,,Failed to create task.
ERROR,1498021200235,Wed 21 Jun 2017 05:00:00 UTC,,Caused by: com.syncsort.dp.xsb.commons.XSBAuthenticationException: Your user credentials are not recognized. Provide User Name and Password again or contact the System Administrator.

or 

An error occurred before step execution: com.syncsort.dp.xsb.commons.XSBException: Failed to get node information from URI https://10.65.204.47:8443/api/vsphere/1001.

 

 

 

Resolution

 

 

This behavior will be addressed in a ECX Maintenance Update. However, a complete Maintenance Update is not available at this time. Contact Catalogic Software Data Protection Technical Support to obtain the required update. Reference Issue ECSUST-1100.

The workaround for this issue is to do the following:
-  Login as admin
-  Open the jobs  in question and  update.
( After the above step the job gets assigned to admin user )
-  After that  you will be able to run the job without problems  and the restore points  should be there.
