Symptoms
An attempt to inventory DB / FS fails with unformatted messages in a job log, Snippet of the log is following:

Resolution
This scenario can be observed for different versions of ECX supporting application (MS SQL) and FS support. Check Volume Shadow Service to ensure it is not disabled. After the service was enabled, inventory completed successfully.
