Symptoms

Under certain circumstances, while running the Autoupdate on the Master server to update DPX to version 4.5.2 (0177) using the DPX Local Management Console, the JRE directory becomes inconsistent. This can lead to login failures to the DPX UI and other problematic behavior with DPX functionality.

Resolution

Ensure the Webapp (or remote UI) is being used to update the Master server to 4.5.2 using the Autoupdate method. The Webapp can be accessed from any web browser using the URL: http://<hostname>:6122/dpx.jnlp or alternatively http ://<IP>:6122/dpx.jnlp. This will launch the DPX Webapp on the local client, a Java 1.8+ installation is required to load the jnlp.

In the event the above was not followed there will be a JRE directory in the path SSPRODIR/JRE_* that has not moved to the proper location within the DPX installation directory. To correct this condition follow the steps below:
  1. Stop the DPX services on the Master server, as long as there are no backups/restores taking place.
  2. Move the directory %PRODIR%/JRE_* to location SSPRODIR%/tools/jre/ (SSPRODIR% is referring to the DPX installation path typically C:\Program Files\DPX\)
  3. Start all the DPX services
