Summary
Block Restores of reparse points will fail if the files to be restored are stub files.
Symptoms
When backing up Volumes in Block level mode, DPX will backup the entire Volume block by block and not differentiate between real files and stubbed files.
That means if some files on the Volume were stubbed by archiving software, the following error will appear during restore of those files:
type(NDMP_LOG_WARNING), text(/xxx/xxx/SomeFile.xlsx is a reparse point and it will not be restored. Restore of reparse points from Block Backups is not supported.)
Resolution
Files that were stubbed by a 3rd party application will have to restored by the archiving software that created the stub file.
