Summary

Power Control 9.0 failed to copy complete SharePoint 2010 data to target site

Symptoms

Getting error while copying sharepoint site (Coporate) to another site (sbgprtalqa) using the PowerControl V.9.0 version from restored drive.

In Power Control 9.0, the COPY operation gets “Site not found” error from sharepoint site (see screenshot 1 attached), and it can be seen the same subsite (Law Department) are partially copied on destination (sbgportalqa) as shown in screenshot 2 attached,

Resolution

The root cause of the problem is specific to SharePoint 2010 databases and has to do with the way SharePoint stores large numbers of columns for a
list. The list “Request” contains very large number of columns while other lists have a small number of columns. This seems to be SharePoint's
behavior if the list has more columns than it is set in predefined, common table storing all data for all lists in "AllUserData".

Kroll development provided the fix in patch release PC 9.10, available at
http://das.ontrack.com/powercontrols/CA17E9A9/PC91.exe

PC 9.10 requires its own license, for PC 9.0 users, send existing license to Kroll Support to update it to PC 9.10 license.

PS.  SharePoint 2013 and 2016 do NOT have this constraint on the number of columns for a list, it would only be seen in SharePoint 2010 data.
