DPX Master Node entry exists twice under the DPX Enterprise configuration

 

Symptoms

If you have deployed a new Catalogic DPX OVA 4.6 and then run the migration steps to import your existing DPX configuration, there may be two DPX Master node entries in your DPX Enterprise configuration.

The default  OVA deployment creates an entry:
1.  NodeGroup: DefaultGroup -> NodeName: master

2: After the migration, your original NodeGroup and NodeName are also imported

It looks something like this:



After removal of the invalid entry and a reboot of the master server the entry, including NodeGroup, reappears.

 

Resolution

To disable auto-creation of a master node in a default group, please follow the steps below:

1.  First delete the duplicated Node.
2.  Login the VM first using an SSH connection as dpxadmin user and run the below command: 
 

sudo sed -i s/add_node_to_enterprice$/#add_node_to_enterprice/ /usr/local/bin/dpx-ovf-ntwrk.sh
