Summary

A restore job fails with the error "No entries in RJI file for job. Tapes are being marked offsite in the enterprise."

Resolution

This error is commonly encountered during attempts to restore data from a tape that is marked offsite within DPX. To successfully restore the data, mark the necessary tapes onsite.

To mark tapes onsite, go to the Administrator menu and select Configure. Click the Media button on the Configuration menu. The Configure Media screen appears.

The pane on the right side of the window displays the names (volsers) of media volumes that belong to the selected media pool. Double-click an appropriate media volume, and the Media Information screen will appear. Edit the status field to reflect the proper onsite status.

The possible status conditions are:

  • Appendable: Contains unexpired data; additional data can be appended to the volume.
  • Empty: Does not contain data but is labeled.
  • Expired:Contains only expired data.
  • Full: Contains unexpired data; no more data can be recorded on the volume.
  • InUse: Currently being used by Backup Express.
  • InMount: Currently being mounted.
  • New: Not yet labeled.
  • Offsite: Currently vaulted; may be full, appendable, or expired.
  • Twin: One of a pair of twinned media volumes.

Once the tape has been set to the proper status, you can run the restore job.
