Troubleshooting a Return Code 10022 (CM_ERR_EINVAL)

This article provides suggestions for troubleshooting an error return code of 10022 (CM_ERR_EINVAL).

Resolution

This is a generic error code set by the cmagent.

1. Make sure that the Catalogic Software product directory (SSPRODIR) and CMAGENT communication parameters file (SSICMAPI) are set up correctly for this machine.
2. Does the machine have multiple NICs? Can the machine ping its own hostname? Make sure that hostname resolution is solid for this machine. Edit the host's file on the machine so that it can resolve its own name. Try binding communication to a specific IP address with the SSICMAPI hostname option, e.g. "-hn xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx", where this is the IP address of the machine's NIC where you are forcing communication. Restart DPX after applying this flag.
3. Verify that the machine has firewall exclusions set for DPX ports or the firewall running on the machine is disabled.
