Does DPX use the archive bit of a file to determine if it has been backed up?

Resolution

The archive bit (or access bit) is used by some backup and hierarchical storage management systems to determine when a file should be backed up. DPX does not use the archive bit to decide whether or not to backup a file. Instead, DPX uses the change and modification time of the file. During backup, DPX catalogs this information. During subsequent incremental and differential backups, this information is used to determine whether or not to back up a file.
