Summary
Backup job fails to automatically mount DISKDIRECTORY volser and requests operator intervention.
Symptoms
When trying to perform a backup job using DISKDIRECTORY device as the destination, the job requests the operator to mount tape. The following message is reported in the job monitor (report):
OPERATOR AT NODE (NODENAME) PLEASE MOUNT TAPE (VOLSER_ID) AT DRIVE ZERO (PATH_TO_DRIVE)
Resolution
This error occurs on Windows device servers. To avoid this problem, ensure that the Device ID defined in device properties does not contain a trailing backslash ('\'). For example:
- Correct entry is: C: or \\.\volume
- Incorrect entry is: C:\ or \\.\volume\
