Summary

This article describes how to configure the DPX Software Update System to use a proxy host for Catalogic Software MySupport access.

Resolution

By default, the DPX Software Update System does not assume the presence of a proxy host to access the internet and more specifically the Catalogic Software MySupport site to check and download new patches.

If the Master Server access to Internet/MySupport is proxied, the name of the proxy host as well as the proxy port number for the HTTP protocol must be specified on the Master Server in the Software Update System configuration file (config.txt) located under the updates directory in your Backup Express installation directory (SSPRODIR). The following lines in this file must be changed to reflect your HTTP proxy host and port:

master|agent|socsProxyHost|<Proxy Host Full DNS Name>

master|agent|socsProxyPort|<Proxy Host HTTP Proxy Port Number>

Example:

master|agent|socsProxyHost|myproxy.mydomain.com

master|agent|socsProxyPort|80

The DPX Software Update System Master Agent must be restarted after making this change. Please consult the DPX Software Update System documentation for further information on starting/stopping agents.
