Symptoms
When running a Lotus backup, the backup job log shows messages similar to the following:

There are then a number of log files shown as failed files in the backup job summary.
Resolution
The data directory location for Lotus is saved as DATADIR within DPX. In this case, the problem resulted from the archive logs being inside the data directory.
The issue can be resolved by moving the Lotus logs directory to a separate directory outside of the data directory.
