Important: Although the images in this article depict a specific version of the DPX management console, their functionality is applicable to all currently supported versions.

To verify the block level backup image for each volume on each node in the Enterprise:

  1. Navigate to Restore > Block in the DPX management console.

  2. Drill down to each physical volume. Navigate to the latest snapshot of the volume. Select the latest snapshot. In this example, the C drive on the node VM-BEXMASTER is verified. The latest snapshot is selected from 7/29/2009 at 04:12 PM. A green dot for the snapshot on 07/28/2009 at 10:35 AM indicates that this snapshot is verified successfully.

  3. Right-click the snapshot and select Verify.

  4. A dialog box indicates that DPX is building a verification job. When the verification job finishes, select Run.

Note: For the verification process to succeed, the Microsoft iSCSI initiator must be installed on the client.

  5. To confirm the verification job is complete, navigate to Monitor Jobs.

You can perform multiple verification jobs at the same time. If the verification jobs fail, the cause is that the iSCSI mounting process for verification timed out. To resolve this, rerun the verification jobs.

  6. After the verification process completes, navigate to Restore > Block. A green dot displays next to the snapshot verified and confirms the verification process.
