Summary

This article provides the administrator procedure to update DPX manually.

 

Resolution

Important: Although the images in this article depict a specific version of the DPX management console, their functionality is applicable to all currently supported versions.

To update DPX manually:

  1. Go to MySupport https://mysupport.catalogicsoftware.com/ and log in.


     
  2. In Support Home, select your DPX version and navigate to DPX Updates.


     
  3. Select your release and Download Software Updates.


     
  4. Select the package for the client and upload it to a location on the computer that you are patching.


     
  5. Open a BEX/NSB command prompt in the operating system where you are installing the patch.
     
  6. Navigate to the DPX subdirectory java/current/jre/bin and run:

        java -jar <package name> where <package name> is the full path and name of the package that you downloaded. This uses the version of java packaged with DPX.
 

  • If DPX is not installed in the default location indicated by the patch installer, then select the location where it is installed.
     
  • Select one of the following options:

    Restart the computer now as part of the installation.
    Restart the computer later before you attempt the next backup.

    Important: For the patch to take affect, restart the computer. Select to restart now or at a later time.
     
  • Proceed with the installation to complete the patch process.
