Warning: Expiring jobs delete Catalog data that cannot be restored. Before you perform this procedure, ensure that you want to permanently delete this data.

To expire jobs:

  1. In the DPX management console, select Catalog > Job Functions.

  2. Select the job instance to expire. You may select more than one job instance.
  3. In the Job Task Panel, click Expire Catalog Job Instance and click Yes to proceed with catalog job expiration.

  4. Select Catalog > Condense > Run and Monitor a Condense Job and run the condense job. The data is deleted on completion of the condense process.

Note:

  1. For Block backup jobs, this action does not reclaim the base backup space. To do so, delete the backup job definition and then run another condense operation.
  2. Please note for freeing up full tapes all jobs instances on the tape must expired or the tape itself must be expired.
