Summary

You cannot add a SharePoint virtual node to your Enterprise. When you are logged into the server as a domain user, the DPX SharePoint installation requires a login authentication change in Cmagent. To resolve this issue, use the procedure below to make this change.

Symptoms

You re-scan a physical node after installing DPX. But, the SharePoint virtual node dialog box does not appear as expected.

Resolution

When you are logged into the server as a domain user, the DPX SharePoint installation requires a Cmagent login authentication change. You can now add the SharePoint virtual node to your DPX Enterprise.

Any out-of-box installation always requires you to edit the Cmagent services to change the login account to the domain account with the proper username and password. When you rescan a physical node after installing DPX and the SharePoint virtual node dialog box does not appear as expected, you must change Cmagent's login settings.

To change Cmagent's login settings:

  1. Open Service Manager and right-click Cmagent.
  2. Select Properties > Log On.
  3. Change the login procedure so it uses the domain account. Do not use the default Local System account. You must provide the appropriate username and password for the domain account.
  4. Restart Cmagent.
  5. Rescan the SharePoint node. The SharePoint virtual node dialog box displays.
  6. For SharePoint farms, even though only the first control node added prompts for the virtual node addition, repeat steps 1 through 5 for all other control and Microsoft SQL Server nodes in the farm.
