Symptoms
During the InstallShield installation of the software, the install fails with a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error. In addition to the runtime error, the message indicates the following:
An error with the javaw.exe program
R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Resolution
In this case, a competing backup product (Legato) inserted itself in the <PATH> ahead of the shared area for Microsoft Runtime Libraries. To inspect the <Path> variable, right-click on My Computer-->Properties and navigate to System Properties, as follows:
Ensure that all Windows pathways occur before third-party products.
