    1. Create a volume on the destination filer to perform the restore. This volume should be at least the same size as the source data you are restoring. This example uses the following volume: /vol/s4_RESTORE.
    2. Restrict the volume from the previous step through NetApp FilerView, NetApp System Manager, or the command line.
    3. Navigate to Restore > NDMP and, on the source pane, select the volume restore point to restore from tape.
    4. On the destination pane, select the restore destination. For example, s4_RESTORE.
    5. In the Other Tasks section, open Set Destination Options and ensure the NDMP Recovery Mode is set to Extract.
    6. Save the NDMP restore job. For example, nRESTORETEST.
    7. Ensure the necessary tapes are available in the tape library through a Preview Restore Job. Then, run and monitor the job to completion.
    8. Navigate to the NetApp device and verify that the state of the restore destination volume is online.
    9. If a FlexClone license is available on the NetApp device, the Bare Metal Recovery creates a FlexClone copy to run the restore operations. If a FlexClone license is not available on the NetApp device, you must break the snapmirror relationship on the restore volume, for example s4_RESTORE, through the following command:

snapmirror break <destination volume of the restored data>
    10. Boot the Bare Metal Recovery CD from the system that you want to recover and follow the Bare Metal Recovery procedure. Select the NetApp volume, for example s4_RESTORE, then recover from one of the available snapshots.
