Symptoms
The DeleteVM command run from a DPX client node fails. A few different symptoms may exist. A typical failure displays the following at the client node command line:
Could not find or load main class com.syncsort.bex.vilib.DeleteVMUtil
This issue was originally identified on a Linux x86 client, however the issue applies generally to client nodes.
Resolution
The DeleteVM command line utility requires the use of various libraries that are only installed on nodes having the Virtual Proxy feature installed. In the case of Linux x86, 32-bit nodes do not qualify for installation of the Virtual Proxy feature.
Run the DeleteVM command from the master server, not from the client node. The master server always has the necessary components to execute the GUI-based and command-line versions of the DeleteVM feature.
