Summary

When running agentless backups, you may encounter a scenario during the resolution phase where you receive an error. However, the agentless backup does run successfully without reporting a failure of a node backup. To workaround this problem, open the job definition containing this error and check the Virtual Machine Selections to ensure they are all correct.

When running agentless backups, you may encounter a scenario during the resolution phase where you receive an error. However, the agentless backup does run successfully without reporting a failure of a node backup. Following is an example of the message:

 

 

X.X.X.X sssvh Mon Feb 03 11:34:29 2014 SNBSVH_808W Resolution warning for vCenter node (vCenter5): Unable to expand the path (/Production/ProdCL/Agentless/SU-Windows 2008 70.51)

In vCenter, the failing selection was renamed but the backup job definition was not resaved after renaming the virtual machine.

Workaround:

Open the job definition containing this error and check the Virtual Machine Selections to ensure they are all correct.

Fix

This behavior will be addressed in a BEX/NSB/DPX Maintenance Update. However, a complete Maintenance Update is not available at this time. Contact Catalogic Software Data Protection Technical Support to obtain the required update referring to issue: DPC-21984.
