Summary

To update your DPX application from DPX 4.4.0 to DPX 4.4.2, a two-step process is required. (This procedure does not apply if you are using the special DPX 4.4.1 Linux ISO image (DPX_r441_linux.iso) for RHEL 6.7, CentOS 6.7, RHEL 7.x, CentOS 7.x, SLES 11 SP4, SLES 12.x. ). If you are running a release of DPX earlier than 4.4.0, upgrade to 4.4.0 before beginning this process.

Resolution

To update your DPX application from DPX 4.4.0 to DPX 4.4.2:

1. Update the Master Server in your DPX Enterprise by using the semi-automated method for autoupdate. This involves manually updating the software Update Package Repository (product-directory\updates\packages) with the appropriate Software Update Package for the Master Server. The Software Update Package is a .jar file available on the DPX 4.4 MySupport page. See Chapter 8: Software Update System in the DPX Reference Guide, and follow the instructions for Manually Populating the Software Update Package Repository.

Upon completion of your Master Server update, confirm that your Master Server level is at 4.4.0 patch 61, which is also called 4.4.2. You can identify the update level by examining the contents of the patches.level file located in the product-directory\updates folder on the Master Server node, where product-directory is the main DPX folder.

2. Update your remaining clients in the usual way, by applying the appropriate autoupdate packages either through the automated or semi-automated method. See Chapter 8: Software Update System in the DPX Reference Guide.
