When used with ECX, Kroll Ontrack tools help ECX administrators search, preview, and restore the following objects: Exchange mailbox items SharePoint server objects such as documents, lists, libraries, and folders SQL tables and table items
Resolution
To enable this functionality, you must first use ECX to run a Copy Data policy for which the Exchange, SharePoint, or SQL VM is the source. The Copy Data policy should be run with a Storage Workflow configured with a VMware Primary Snapshot and a mirror subpolicy. When the Copy Data policy completes, run a VMware Use Data Instant Access policy from the mirror site, selecting an alternate Exchange, SharePoint, or SQL VM as the destination. Log on to the new VM and bring the restored disk online.
Install the latest supported Kroll Ontrack® PowerControls™ application on the new VM to enable object level search, preview, and recovery. The supported KROLL applications are available from the Tools menu of Catalogic MySupport.
